LUKE SAYS...

Hi! I'm Luke and i'm the Chair and the Member of Youth Parliament for Hastings & Rother.

I'm 16 years old and was born in Wolverhampton, and immigrated to New Zealand at the age of 7 for about 4 years. I have been living in Hastings now for just over 5 years, and really enjoy life in the town. For all the things that might be wrong with Hastings, I can see things are really improving round here with young people playing a big role in the revival of Hastings.

I have pretty strong opinions on most things, but i'm always open minded and am more than willing to be proven wrong if anyone has a valid point against what i'm saying!

I've been a member of the Youth Council for the last year now. Before joining, I believed that young people couldn't make any different to local or national policy. Since then, I have had meetings with our local MP, Borough Councillors and engage in a regular meeting with councillors at the Youth Forum. We are a bunch of committed individuals who are all working for a good deal for the youth of Hastings in its regeneration.

"Hi my name is Elissa and I've been a member of the youth council for nearly 5 years now, I enjoy the youth council and hope to continue for a while yet. I enjoy playing sport and have played badminton for 8 or so years, i hope to reach the top? I would like to become an animator some day???? "

MOLLY SAYS

"I'm Molly, I was the equal opportunities officer of HPYC last year.. Ideally, I'd like to see Hastings full of art, especially by young people, more recycling going on and Priory Meadow painted purple! I love rock music and am learning to play the guitar. I spend a load of my spare time watching movies and eating Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The only interesting thing about me really is that I spin fire. Totally useless but still cool. Byseby"

 

TERESA IS THE SECRETARY AND SAYS...

"Hi i am the secretary 22yr old Teresa i work as a lobby hostess at a hastings mcds.i enjoy dance classes and volunteering in my spare time .I am interested in passport to leisure (PTL) and anti bullying issues and the performing arts."
