CONNEXIONS ONE-STOP SHOP
It's good to know that if you've ever got a problem however big or small, there is one place in the town centre that you can go to for advice or simply just to have a chat with someone who's on your side!
The Connexions One-Stop Shop located in Cambridge Road (right opposite ESK) is open from:
Monday to Friday from 3pm until 6pm
Saturdays from 2 until 5. (It's closed on Sundays).
Between those times there is always someone friendly and welcoming on hand to talk to, whatever the problem. There is also a Health Project which offers free and CONFIDENTIAL information and advice around contraception, STIs, pregnancy, relationship issues, mental health and wellbeing...just drop by anytime they're open.
They also have the following drop-in sessions on the following subjects. 'Drop-in' means just that - you don't need an appointment, you simply turn up on any day at the following times to get specialist help and advice on the following....
MONDAYS AND THURSDAY between 2 and 5.30pm - Want2Talk Feeling like no one is going through what you're going through and you're getting more and more worried about things? Well, you don't have to go through anything on your own. If everything is getting too much, then why not book an appointment or drop by and see if someone is free to talk. Call 07817 295040 or send a text to that number.
MONDAY between 11.30 and 1.30pm - BAPS
Baby & Parent Support Group. If you are a young mother or father with a baby (or one on the way!) you can find all sorts of support and advice that will help you cope with looking after a young baby.
WEDNESDAY between 4pm and 6pm - Education, Employment & Training (Connexions Sussex Careers)
Finding it hard to get the job you want? Wondering what to do at college? Worried about how you'll cope with finances if you go into training? Thinking about leaving school? Today is the day where you can ask any question you like about your career options and get expert help in taking the next steps.
THURSDAY between 5pm and 6pm Drugs & Alcohol (Under 19s Substance Misuse)
You'll find friendly, non-judgemental people on hand between these times to talk to you about Drugs and Alcohol and what kind of effects they can have.
THURSDAY between 4 and 5pm - Smoking Cessation (Springboard)
Is smoking burning a hole in your pocket as well as damaging your health? If you want support with giving up smoking turn up any Thursday at these times to get help.
XTRAX
There is also another place to go if you are over 16 and under 25 and that is XTRAX – a free young people's drop in service right in the middle of Hastings town centre (located behind the main Hastings post office, off Havelock Road).
